The Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University, will start a new Master/Ph.D. program, Strategic Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Alliance Management Initiatives (SESAMI), in April 2013. The SESAMI program is academically oriented, and is to advance the frontier of knowledge and practice in the fields of strategic entrepreneurship and sustainability alliance management, which is founded on the thorough understanding of wide-range of management disciplines. The SESAMI program addresses the entrepreneurial activities with a particular emphasis on sustainability in a broad sense including supply chain management, servicizing and other managerial issues. The SESAMI program also calls for formation of alliances with other research/education institutions and practicing private/public organizations.

SESAMI course schedule

Academic year 2013 will start in April 2013 and end in March 2014. There will be neither summer nor spring break. Each one-credit course corresponds to 12 contact hours, and will be offered intensively during a one-week period. Each two-credit hour course corresponds to 22.5 contact hours over two weeks. Each course may be supplemented by tutorial sessions before and after the intensive course period. SESAMI research projects with alliance companies

From the study of the second year on, students will be involved themselves in action research projects with companies. Students are required to conduct application-based research, which first conducts a consulting type group project for a company and then generalizes the findings to generate useful and/or usable theories. The SESAMI program has alliance with the following companies:
